He started his career in WCW (World
Championship Wrestling) as Stunning Steve Austin. His
career was lifted off with such professional wrestling
greats as Arn Anderson and Ric Flair. I think he was one
of the four horsemen but I'm not so sure.
However, he wasn't taken seriously there! It
was at WCW that Austin developed a friendship with Brian
Pillman (also know as 'Flying Brian') and both signed up
with WWF at almost the same time. Even though
Austin was a strong contender for the Television Champion
belt in WCW he left for ECW (Extreme Championship
Wrestling) because he felt that the 'challenges' of
wrestling were missing! He spent 5 years at WCW before
finally leaving for the ECW.
